The Saturday before our first service we had a great group of volunteers from our church clean all the windows, floors, etc.
No job was too much for them. They wanted God's house to be in good shape.
One group cleaned all the plastic chairs.
Don did some touch up painting on the rails outside.
Moving the SS furniture from the small old building to the big new one was a challenge on the staircase.

This table seems to be moving itself...
...but a look from another angle shows Oswaldo giving it a piggyback ride to the new church.
Carla moved the SS materials to their new home.
The (heavy) pews were loaded on a borrowed trailer and driven to the new site.
Everything was put in place... the pews...

... and the chairs.
Everyone pitched in as things were coming together well.
Even the cleaning supplies were brought in for the cleaning closet.
Time for a break! Room temperature Coke and Inca Kola, the soft drink of Peru were just what they wanted.
Everything is set and ready for Sunday morning!

What a beautiful sight!
Sunday comes and the first use of the building is Don's youth SS class. What a privilege to train up the future church!
As everyone started arriving, Andreíta enjoyed using the handicap ramp we installed as we were constructing the building.
Then the service started... Praising our Lord through song and giving Him thanks for His blessings to us.
We have two kids classes and one young peoples' class.

We also have a nice roomy nursery. This is a big step up from using our kitchen each Sunday as the nursery.
Pastor José did a good job of preaching on missions, thanking God for what missions has accomplished in their lives and encouraging the Peruvians to "do their part".

The end of the service included baptism of a teenager in our church. What a way to celebrate a new building... with a new member!
Saraí, the young lady who was baptized, wanted her picture with the pastor, his wife, Carla and Don.
