One big happy group ready for the next 11 days. We leave in rain headed for the coast.
Our first meeting was with Pastor Sangama in Huanchaco, about 5 1/2 hrs from where we live.
Each of the youth were trained in different jobs that were to be accomplished each time we set up for a video presentation
They all did a great job and we were ready for each meeting in just a few minutes
| | | | |
| | | | |
Final preparations, cable connections, etc at the projection table
Before each meeting we met for a time of prayer asking God to bless
There were over 100 people who were present for this presentation
Each video that we use teaches Bible principles and prepares people's hearts for the Gospel
We even had a van pull up and open their doors to sit and watch
| | | | |
| | | | |
A clear presentation of the Gospel was presented at the end of our meeting
There were two families who wanted to talk with the pastor. They wanted to know where the church was located so they could learn more. The pastor was greatly encouraged!
A late night meal with the pastor and his family after the meeting. A good time of fellowship and a great way to encourage the pastor.
9 1/2 hr drive to Lima through desert along the Pacific Ocean
Over 1500 miles of driving, but well worth it!
| | | | |

In Lima, we stayed at the New Life Children's Home, a ministry of Missionary Mike Kennedy
It was a blessing to have this comfortable place to relax. We were served breakfast each morning.
Morning devotions before heading out for the day.

On our way to our next meeting we stopped to share God's Word. The shopping center in the background would not allow us to pass out tracts without written permission so we went across the street to share the Gospel in a local market.
Our 2nd meeting was in an area called Los Olivos
We quickly set up and knocked on doors to invite the locals
At each meeting we started with singing. At this one the ladies also did sign language to the song.
At this meeting we had around 70 attend and ONE SAVED!
| | | | |
| | | | |
Our 3rd meeting was in a very poor area named Ventanilla
We were here to help and encourage national pastor Marcos Torres. One of our members moved to Lima and is attending his church.
They fed us a nice lunch and then the youth had time to get to know some of their youth while playing games
Then we pitched in and helped fold invitations/tracts for the evening's meeting
After a time of door knocking we were set up and ready for the evening
| | | | |
| | | | |
After presenting the Gospel to around 70 people, 9 ACCEPTED CHRIST this night!
The next morning we went to the heavily populated garment district to pass out tracts. The name of the area is Gomorrah and lives up to its name with thievery, etc. They need the Gospel
That evening we went to an area of Cieneguilla where Iglesia Bautista Vida Nueva (Misnry Mike Kennedy) has a bus route.
| | | | |
| | | | |
David Taza, the pastor of the church in Cieneguilla, went around announcing the event by megaphone
As we set up, it looked like it might rain
Praise the Lord for willing souls. Even with a misting rain during the entire evening the youth sang...
... and presented their drama which helps attract the people in the area.
Even with the rain we had around 65 show up and sit under the edges of houses.

The next day we were at the EFATA ministry in Via El Salvador with Pastor Henry Vásquez. It is a ministry for the deaf but they also have services for the hearing. Missionary Joe Kotvas is in charge of this work.
Our youth lent a hand to move a stack of bricks to a 3rd floor roof while we were there.
Then we hit the streets to invite people to the presentation that night
A couple of our youth had learned some sign language and were eager to try it out with some of the deaf students.
| | | | |
| | | | |
At dark, people started filling up the rock wall...
Pews were brought in to sit even more people.
As I preached to the hearing, a son of Bro. Kotvas interpreted in sign language to the deaf. We saw 4 SAVED in a crowd of at least 115 people. 1 of those saved was a deaf person.
The trip wasn't ALL work. We took the youth to the zoo one day...
... and afterward treated them to fresh fish, either fried...
