New York ?!?!?
Happy New Year everyone! Carla and I pray that all of our friends, family, prayer partners and supporters are blessed with a wonderful 2010. God truly blessed us this past year. We are excited to see just how He will work in our lives and ministry in the next 12 months.
Carla and I would like to thank each of you who sent us Christmas cards, gifts and email through the holidays. It is always great to hear from you.
We made the trip to GA for Christa's wedding in November. The wedding and the bride were beautiful. It was a busy but fun time. We first arrived in GA from Peru. Then we drove to FL to pack Christa's belongings into a U-haul trailer and pull it back to GA for the wedding. After the wedding and their honeymoon we loaded all their belongings into a U-haul truck and drove it to Texas where they are living and working. The church where Stephen is now youth pastor has a wonderful group of people with a great spirit. Christa was hired at a coffee shop just one day after arriving. She loves her job. We enjoyed seeing their new location but soon had to return to GA for our flight back to Peru. That was an adventure in itself. To make a three page story short... Our flight was late leaving ATL for NY (yeah, I know... Why NY? To answer that would make the story even
longer.) We missed our connecting flight and had to stay 2 days in NY. They finally were able to route us back to... get this... ATL, so that we could fly on to Peru. Once there, we found that our luggage was sent on another plane and that one piece had not arrived. Through it all, God blessed in several ways that would take at least half a page to explain. We hope you enjoyed the Reader's Digest version. For the full version please come visit us in Peru and we will be glad to fill in the blanks. P.S. - I got to go deer hunting while in GA!
In the past couple of months we have started financially supporting a Peruvian national missionary who has begin a work in an area we have been praying about for a while. The name of the area is Bambamarca. We also have provided Bibles for everyone in their small congregation and have given counsel in several areas of his ministry.
We had the privilege of seeing six individuals saved during our Christmas services. Everyone had a part in the special services to celebrate our Savior's birth. The kids put on a play with a manger scene, angels, ...the works! It was great. Then, in the evening services, the youth and adults presented a Christmas Cantata that made us very proud of the church God has entrusted us with.
We have many plans for this year. It all starts this Sunday as Carla and I take nine of our Peruvian youth on their first missions trip.
They and we are all excited. We have eight meetings arranged to show videos, do dramas, door knocking, singing, preaching, testimonies, etc. We will be updating you in our next prayer letter of the results. Stay tuned!
Building Program Update- Praise the Lord, we resumed construction today! It was great to let the workers in and hear the sounds of materials being delivered. "Lord willing and the creek don't rise"
(literally), we will be pouring the second floor roof within a month.
We have added more photos to our website so please stop by and take a look.
