Got a Quarter?

Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,

     Praise the Lord!   Once again, I am able to write to you of an increase in our monthly support!  Since last month’s letter, we have heard from other churches who have promised to “take us on”.  We will now have 76% when it all comes in faithfully.  We anxiously await calls and/or letters from other pastors who contact us to let us know they are taking us on for support.  With 76% promised, we are quickly reaching our goal.  If we were to look at it as a dollar bill, twenty five cents would put us over the top!  Anyone got a quarter?

     Many of you have asked of our needs as we have visited with you and we appreciate your interest.  I mentioned our most urgent needs in our last prayer letter and will repeat them here for your prayerful consideration.  We remain in need of the funds to purchase our airline tickets for departure, pay for shipping of our personal belongings, set up house in Peru, and hopefully be able to purchase a vehicle for transportation.  If you feel God would have you help in any of these areas, please send the funds to our support address at CMC and include a note as to how you want it used.  Any and all will be appreciated.

     Also, I mentioned last month that our estimated departure date is the second or third week of July, Lord willing.  Time is drawing near.  Only 4 months to go!  Please pray that our phone will continue to ring as we hear from new supporters each week and watch our support grow.

     We have begun collecting boxes to pack our belongings, calling shipping agencies for quotes, and calling for airfares.  We are in constant contact with Bro. Mike in Peru, with whom we will be working.  He and his wife, Chelene, have been a great help to us in preparing for our move.  Please keep this wonderful couple and their children in your prayers.  Bro. Mike tells us of the new work he has started where we will be assisting while in training.  This past weekend, there were 11 saved!  This makes us even more anxious to reach Peru and begin the work God has called us to.

     God continues to bless our meetings as we travel on deputation.  Please pray for us to reach more souls in the U.S. before leaving for Peru.  Our calling and destination is Peru, but our purpose is to reach souls for Jesus no matter where we are.

     Once again, let me say thanks to all of those who are standing with us in prayers and finances.  As missionaries, we are encouraged by each one as we work our way on the deputation trail.
