Resolution?  Romans 12:1-2

Dear Pastors, Praying Friends, and Family,

Happy New Year!   As we consider a resolution for the New Year why not consider Romans 12:1-2 from God’s Word?  I personally believe that if we will line up with that, the rest will take care of itself.

Carla and I pray that each of you had a wonderful and blessed Christmas and New Year holiday.  We are already back in the swing of things making many phone calls to churches to set meetings, driving to the meetings already on the calendar, and covering many miles.

As I begin this letter I would like to ask everyone to pray for the family of Bro. J.C. Chapman.  Bro. Chapman was the pastor of True Gospel Baptist Church in Forest Park.  Sadly he passed away just before Christmas after a battle with cancer.  He was a true man of God and will be dearly missed.  Please pray for his family and the church he pastored for many years.

We heard great news recently from our national pastor.  Bro. José informed us that we had three saved in a recent service at our church in Peru.  We continually hear of good attendance to all services.  Carla and I can’t wait to return home to Peru but we are seeing and hearing of the fruits of our labors.  What a blessing to know that the work is growing even as we are here on furlough.

Speaking of furlough, in a little less than six months our first furlough will be behind us.  Time is passing quickly and there is still much to do.  We have many meetings scheduled in the coming months and will be on the road in many states and, as I mentioned in our last letter, even in Mexico.

Our daughter Christa finished her college classes at the end of December.  She will return for the graduation ceremony in May.  For now, she has taken a job as a nanny for a family in Jacksonville and plans to stay in that area for a while.  Please keep her in your prayers that God would give her wisdom for the many decisions she will be facing.   Also, please keep our son Shawn in your prayers for spiritual and physical needs.  He has been having back problems for quite some time and the doctors have been unable to find the cause.

Carla and I are excited at the interest that several church groups have shown in coming to visit our work in Peru.  We are hearing from construction teams, youth and adult groups, and individuals.  If you would like to plan a missions trip in the future please contact us.  We will be glad to help with the details.  *  If you think you might take a missions trip at any time in the future it would be good to go ahead and get your passport so that you will avoid any delay.  Contact your local Post Office to get the process started.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we travel.  If we are not scheduled to be in your church as of yet, please contact us in GA at 678-921-5116.   We would love to come by to show our presentation, preach, and/or sing.  But, call quickly.  The calendar is filling up!

May God continue to bless each of you for your heart for missions.  What a blessing you are to us!

Serving Him for You in Peru,

                                  Don & Carla Rich
