Saved, Saved, Saved

Dear Pastors, Praying Friends, and Family,

As I write this letter Carla and I are in a hotel in Texas.  After a service tonight we will be on our way back to GA to be with our home church for their Jubilee.  We will be there for one night before we are on the road again.  The Lord has truly blessed and filled our calendar from now until we return to Peru at the end of June.

Another great blessing is to be a part in bringing others to the saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior.  In the past two months we have had two saved in services in Georgia.  We have just returned from a three day trip to Mexico where I was privileged to preach at one church and give a testimony at another new work.  We saw at least two more give their lives to Christ in those meetings.  In speaking to our national pastor in Peru, he informed me that we have had three more saved there in the first part of this year.

It is wonderful to hear that our church in Peru continues to thrive.  They have just completed our third Vacation Bible School with up to ninety-seven in attendance for each service.  I am waiting to hear more of the results from these three days of Bible training and evangelical efforts.  Carla and I really miss our Peruvian brothers and sisters but we are so proud of their spiritual growth.  We know that us being away for a while on furlough is both a test of our first work and a growing time for those we have won to the Lord.  God continues to show Himself strong as the Cornerstone of our work.

Stateside:   Our son Shawn is doing well and recently transferred to a store location nearer to his home.  Our daughter Christa is no longer working as a nanny but has found a more stable job while she searches for God’s will for her next step.  This month we will be celebrating Carla’s dad’s 75th birthday.  Both he and Carla’s mom need our prayers for physical needs as well as my (Don’s) dad.

As we mentioned last month, we have had several people and groups voice interest in visiting the mission field.  * If you think you might take a missions trip at any time in the future it would be good to get your passport now so that you will avoid any delay.  Contact your local Post Office to get the process started.  Let us know if we can help with any planning.

May God continue to bless each of you for your heart for missions and the encouragement you are to us!

Serving Him for You in Peru,

                                  Don & Carla Rich
